My name is Chris and I live in Ottawa, Canada. I have a Ph.D. in history and I work as a historical researcher for the Canadian government. I have also worked as an ESL teacher for three years and in a tour agency. My wife is a certified ICT and Business teacher. We are both EU citizens as well and we are interested to relocate to the Canary Islands. I will be very grateful if you suggest me where to look for work. Teaching in Gran Canaria
Hi, I would recommend that you contact all the language schools as soon as possible (list is in the jobs section) by phone and send a CV. They will soon be offering contracts beginning in October 2009. You could also try applying for the teaching assistants work, details are in the teaching section.
Your wife should contact all the British / American schools - the list is here http://www.grancanariaguru.com/schools_gran_canaria and again send her CV. She may be a little late as they usually recruit in Jan-March but she may have some luck, again try to do it as soon as possible. If she does get a job, she would have to be here by September 1st.
