Hi can anyone help with names of the spanish schools in maspalomas ?
My 3 children are having spanish tuition so hoping that they won't find the spanish schools too daunting !!!
However if we did opt for international schools in the area are they for secondary school age too, or i have heard my eldest may need to travel to las palmas.Any ideas how much they charge ?
Any information will be greatly appreciated
Hi , could anyone please advise me on schools in maspalomas, gran canaria. We plan to move out this summer and have 3 children 8 , 10 and 15yrs and wish to send them to the local spanish schools, any advise will be greatly appreciated.
From my experience, (I've worked in bilingual/international schools in Spain for the last 19 years), if at all possible, I would try to send my children to International or British curriculum school at this age, unless their level of Spanish is really good. Spanish state run schools are under no obligation to offer any support or extra tuition to non Spanish speakers and many English speakers find the Spanish book &/ exam based system very daunting, not to mention extrememly difficult if they do not master the language.
I would recommend a Spanish - Bilingual school as there are some great ones nowadays. Guaydil, now known as Atlantic Kids is great, I know lots of people who take their kids there. They really look after them, a good solid education and a great atmosphere among kids and staff alike!
