Tapas Bar
My favourite tapas restaurant in Las Palmas. It is located in el muelle
deportivo and you can eat outside. It has a great selection of northern
Spanish Tapas and just the polvorito for pudding is worth the trip.
Sakura 2
This is a teppanyaki restaurant where the food is cooked in front of you. It is a really entertaining evening and food is excellent too. Take your camera.
Thai Malacca
Everything about this restaurant is excellent. the food, the decor, the service ... even the crockery. I would highly, highly recommend you go for a meal here. If you're thinking of going on a Friday or Saturday night book a table in advance.
La Pizza
Type of food: Pizza, Salads, Fish, Pasta, Meat, Homemade deserts although their speciality are pizzas
One of the few restaurants that are in a more romantic style
Closed on Tuesday
Las Brasas
They are famous for their grilled chicken, salad, hot bread with herbs and butter.
This is a pretty well known restaurant among the locals and well worth the trip, you will not find any tourists here!
La Panacotta
Amazing steaks and good service. Ask what fresh meat they have in, the t-bone steaks will be bigger than your plate - a proper Desperate Dan meal.
La Terraza
Possibly the restaurant with the best views on the island! There is a huge terrace perfect for an afternoon meal or a summer's evening meal.
The staff are super friendly and the food is great. Ask for their specials - we have never been disappointed.
Los Botes
Really cheap seafood / tapas restaurant on the beach. All the tables are outside and are literally 10m from the shore. It's got a great atmosphere and the food is great, especially if there's a big group of you so you can share all the dishes. It gets pretty busy Friday and Saturday so either get there early (8pm) or book a table.
Novillo Precoz
Absolutely the best steak Ive ever had, awesome!! Dont order well done, youll get hoofed out!
My favourite, solomillo medio hecho.
Taj Mahal
Every time ive been the curry has improved yet still lacks a bit of zing like! Jalfrezi is good, vindaloo is very enjoyable, the popadoms are chickpea flour and not as good as the Hindustani club. Plastic flowers are a touch of home or a lot of pish, depends which way you like it.
Casa Brito
This is a pure meat restaurant. The meat is barbecued and the various steaks that come out are enormous. The menu is limited, four or five types of steak dishes, two or three pork dishes and a barbecued skewer of chicken. The prices are about right but it cannot be over emphasised, arrive hungry. The entrecot of beef is literally an inch and a half thick and the size of the full plate. You´ll actually have to eat some meat to find a place to put your chips!
Casa Montesdeoca
This is a really nice top quality restaurant. It is in an open air courtyard of an old Canarian house, you are surrounded by old paintings, beautiful architecture and small palms. The food is exceptional and the service is as you'd expect from such a restaurant. The staff speak English very well and are fully knowledgeable on the food and wine.
If you choose your food carefully and drink water you could probably get a starter and a main (they are big portions) for under 30€ a head, but if you fully immerse yourself you won't get much change out of 40 / 50€.
Gambrinus
Gambrinus sells itself as a Cervecería (beer house?) and tapas restaurant. It is pretty good, you won't be disappointed but it's unlikely you'll be blown away by the food either, but it's better than most tapas restaurants in the city. You can eat outside and the service is usually good too.
Tapas Bar Capaco
Richard was foolish/desperate or both when he suggested that I write a review of some restaurants down here in the tourist ghettos. Because quite frankly my opinion of restaurants down here is dire, although this has compelled me to improve my own culinary skills with no small success in that arena.
Casa Vieja
The 2nd of my culinary diatribes and tellingly, my personal climax of reviews for restaurants in the south is Casa Vieja, situated on the road to Fataga just out of Playa, pronounced fa-ta-ga and not fat-taga as I wincingly heard some of you describe it recently.
Although not accessible from the motorway, it soon will be, as a slip road is all but finished bar some Committee directive to move the concrete bollards blocking it.
Restaurante Bernardino
A little Canarian restaurant in a small village near Santa Brígida. It has excellent Canarian and Tapas and if you're in the area or nearby it's well worth the trip. It gets quite busy at lunch times so at the weekends it is recommended that you book a table. Print off the directions before you leave otherwise you'll get lost!
La Rafina
Funny fusion between a morrocan and a grill. Lovely food, especially the "brochetas" and the morrocan chorizo, not too expensive and great service. Out of the way too if you feel the need to get away from "things"
Le Petit Lyonnais
As Restaurant owners my wife and I love looking for upmarket and intimate Restaurants, this one fits every part of the bill.
Its French its intimate, and the food is as good as we have ever found on the Island, well worth a visit.
Fusion Restaurant & Lounge Bar
This is the ultimate in Thai cuisine, authentic dishes lovely atmoshphere, and very attentive staff, this is a restaurant you cannot afford to miss if you visit Arguineguin. (It is also very easy to find, it is beside the Tuesday market.)
Chino Sol
Having tried dozens of Chinese restaurants all over the island this is the one we keep going back to. It's not a "buffet" style restaurant which seems to turn a lot of people off chinese food in this area. They do have a wonderful set menu at 5.30€ per person which gives you a choice of 4 popular starters, 8 main courses and ice cream or coffee to finish, when you sit down you get free prawn crackers and the drinks are very reasonable too unlike the buffet restaurants which make their money from the drinks.
Flicks English cafe
Very good cafe serving english food with real sausage and heinz tom sauce.Full english breakfast is a must and very good sevice.very cheap and will set you up for day.
Restaurante Bar Avenida
Avenida is open 10 - 3pm and 6-12.00. We do breakfasts(full british breakfasts, toasted sandwiches and rolls), snacks(sandwiches, burgers, wraps, salads, Baked potatoes and much more) lunches(pizzas, steaks and croqueetes, fish, etc). We also have a fabulous tapas menu. Main menu with fish, steaks, ribs, escalopes, lamb and vegetarian. Also pizza and pasta.
